Germany

For many years there has been a Campaign group going to Germany. The past several years this mission project has focused on the State of Saxony in the former East Germany. This summer we will focus our time in the cities of Chemnitz and Leipzig. Chemnitz is a strong and growing congregation and Leipzig is a smaller and newer work. We hope to encourage these congregations and hopefully bring some interest and new contacts to them. As a group, we will sing in churches, schools, market places, and anywhere we can share the love of God through song while we are there. Our other goals will be to build relationships with others, showing God's love through our actions and interest in others' lives. We are looking for students who are interested in having a mission experience and are willing to experience it in another culture. From our experience, it is incredibly fulfilling to get to share God's love with others, whether you can speak the same language or not. God can break through any barriers. Read more

Ghana

For the past six years during the month of May a group of college students from all over the country board a plane and head to Ghana, West Africa. The majority of the time spent in Ghana is at the Village of Hope orphanage. The primary goals of the trip are to build relationships with the orphans who live at the Village of Hope and to organize and teach a VBS week for their entire school from 1st-9th grade. Additionally, the group plans various events such as a Mother’s Day party and one giant birthday party for children whose birthdays may not otherwise be recognized. Students also reach out to the surrounding villages by playing games with the local children as well as bringing toys, clothes, and school supplies. In addition, an important component of this mission is to bring clean water sources to surrounding villages that do not have access to it. During this past trip to Ghana, we were able to financially and physically aid in the drilling of three local wells. Read more

Let's Start Talking

LET’S START TALKING MINISTRY has been leading OC students overseas into non-English speaking countries and providing them with an effective method for sharing their faith for over 25 years. OC students have been with LST to Africa, Asia, Europe, Central and Latin America teaching people the English using the Gospel of Luke. You can form your own team of friends on campus or join a team looking for additional people. Teams work with LST to choose the country to serve for 3-6 weeks during the summer. While on an LST project, you will help people practice conversational English, do service projects and host fun events. The time you spend forming friendships will be a powerful and natural way to share your faith. Read more

R.A.M. - Rural America Ministries

R.A.M. stands for ”Rural America Ministries.” It is a ministry recently born out of the awareness of the increasing spiritual decline of rural America and the power of Christ’s love to reverse it. Part of R.A.M.’s vision is to recruit Christian students from state and Christian universities and form short-term “mission teams” to go into these rural communities during their summer break. We are presently recruiting a team(s) of 4-5 students who will work with the 4th & College Church of Christ in Cordell, OK for one, and possibly two, 4 week missions during the summer of 2013. Read more
