Students may raise up to the full amount in mission funds. Some financial aid and scholarships may apply; Talk to your financial counselor.

Program Features

Features may include (included in program cost):

  • Program open to ALL Majors

  • Round-trip airfare from Oklahoma City to Honduras

  • Recreational trip at the end of the program

  • Participation in/and observation of the main programs of Mission Predisan

    • Spiritual development activities (Focus on Predisan personnel, patients and clients, and community).

    • Good Samaritan Clinic (Provides the following activities: primary health care, dentistry, physical therapy, spiritual counseling, laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound services pharmacy, specialties on a monthy or bimonthly basis: gynecology, GI, internal medicine, orthopedic and elective surgeries.  

    • Rural and Mountains Health Community Development program (five small clinics in the mountains and two in isolated barrios in Catacamas).

    • CEREPA alcohol and drug rehabilitation program - In-patient treatment for 35-40 patients, services for men and women, prevention program for young people. 

    • Scholarship program (more than 120 students get funding to attend elementary school, high school and colleges in Tegucigalpa. They come once a month to Predisan to receive their funds and also to participate in a devotional and Bible study).

    • Public health activities in Catacamas and in the mountains areas (health education, screening for diabetics and high cholesterol patients, etc.).

    • Healthy school program (physical assessment, internal and external parasites treatment, education to children about health and spiritual development).

    • Participation and observation of health activities in the public health region of the Olancho District.

Not included in program cost:

  • Phone calls

  • Spending money for personal items, souvenirs, extra activities, etc.

  • Passport

  • Passport and ID photos

  • Physical exam

  • Required immunizations

  • Malaria preventive medicine

A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is required after a student is approved for the program.
