Graduate Admissions Counselor

Position:  Oklahoma Christian University seeks a mature and goal-oriented Graduate Admissions Counselor to lead our campaign to position our online graduate programs as regional leaders.  The successful candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • An outgoing personality that facilitates working effectively with prospective students and industry HR/Education offices
  • A passion for contributing to the branding of our graduate programs so that they are competitive in the regional online marketplace
  • An ability to work to quantitative semester recruiting goals for each online program
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

This position will report to the Director of Graduate Recruiting & Advanced Degree Services and work with the Deans of OC’s five colleges. 

Primary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum five years related work experience in recruitment, marketing, and/or sales
  • Applicants should be active members of the Church of Christ and committed to the mission of Oklahoma Christian University
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender and cultural barriers

Primary Responsibilities

  • Successfully market Oklahoma Christian University to prospective students
  • Consistently meet quarterly and annual goals for applications, admitted students, and enrolled students
  • Maintain and appropriately document consistent and regular communication with prospective students throughout the admissions process via email, phone call, face-to-face conversation, text message, social media, and other outlets as appropriate
  • Represent Oklahoma Christian University at job fairs and other events
  • Arrange and conduct individual meetings with prospective students
  • Help organize group information sessions for prospective students
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Intellectual creativity, independent judgment, and impeccable integrity
  • Circumspect with sensitive information

Work Conditions:

  • Work is primarily in an office environment, but setting for prospect meetings/presentations will vary
  • Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional attendance at evening and weekend events is required
  • Travel is required
