The office manager for the Counseling Center assists the director of counseling services. The duties include but are not limited to answering the phones and directing calls, scheduling appointments and testing, creating and maintaining client files, supply ordering, assisting in planning events hosted by the Counseling Center, data entry, deposits, pick up and distribution of mail, maintaining reception area.
General Requirements for position:
Protecting client information and privacy is of the utmost importance so the office manager must understand and practice confidentiality as required by HIPAA and FERPA. They also must be able to prioritize, organize, work and make decisions independently when necessary.
Physical Requirements for position:
Light physical effort such as lifting (10 pounds), bending, reaching, walking (to pick up supplies or make deposits) and such.
Mental/Emotional Requirements for position:
Ability to project calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations and know when to involve counselor or even security in a given situation.
The Counseling Center is open 8 am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday during the regular school year. Summer hours are part time and are determined by student sessions.
