J.J. Compton is proud to use her OC history degree to not only preserve the legacy of Oklahoma Christian University, but also the church of Christ heritage associated with the Restoration History Collection. Compton was the editor for Best Books for Libraries in 2003. She is also published in the Oklahoma Encyclopedia project. She has presented at such conferences as the Society of Southwest Archivists, and the Christian College Librarians. Compton is also a member of Beta Phi Mu, and the University Representative for the Oklahoma Higher Education Historical Society. Her favorite memories of OC are the Pac Rim tour of 1998, and the Honors Program trip to San Antonio, Texas. She volunteers for the YMCA, and she enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and soccer. She and her husband Dave have two children. Compton attends Memorial Road Church of Christ. She is a Bible class teacher in the toddler area, she works with Capitol Hill, and she participated in a mission trip to Naples, Italy for 1000 in 2007.
