OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 9, 2012) – A trip to California to play in a prestigious invitational tournament will be the highlight of the spring season for Oklahoma Christian’s women’s golf team.
The Lady Eagles will play in five events this spring, starting with the Lady Rattler Round-Up at The Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas, on Feb. 18-19. That tournament will be hosted by OC’s new Heartland Conference rival, St. Mary’s.
The next week, on Feb. 25-26, OC will play in the Glenn Ivy Intercollegiate in Riverside, Calif. The tournament, hosted by California Baptist, will be played at the 109-year-old Victoria Club, one of Southern California’s oldest clubs. The tournament will be 54 holes, 18 more than most regular-season women’s events.
On March 18-19, the Lady Eagles will play in the Midwestern State Invitational at Wichita Falls Country Club in Wichita Falls, Texas. OC then will travel to Fort Smith, Ark., for the Lions Classic, hosted by another Heartland Conference school, Arkansas-Fort Smith, at Hardscrabble Country Club on March 25-26.
OC will close its spring season on April 1-2 in the Southwest Classic, hosted by Heartland Conference foe Dallas Baptist (Texas) at Tierra Verde Golf Club in Arlington, Texas.
The Lady Eagles played five tournaments during the fall season, capped by a second-place finish in the NCCAA Invitational at The Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.
