Seedings, schedule finalized for NCCAA Central Region baseball

OKLAHOMA CITY (May 3, 2013) – Ecclesia (Ark.) will be the top seed in the three-team National Christian College Athletic Association Central Region baseball tournament hosted by Oklahoma Christian, it was announced Friday.

Game times for the three-team, double-elimination event also were slightly adjusted. The tournament will begin Tuesday, with OC (22-22) and Central Baptist (Ark.) (24-24) playing in the opener at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Dobson Field.

The OC-Central Baptist winner will play Ecclesia (24-20) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday at 11 a.m., the losers of those two games will play in an elimination game. The survivor will play the Game 2 winner at 3 p.m. If a fifth tournament game is necessary to decide the winner, it will be played at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The regional champion will advance to the NCCAA Championship, set for May 15-18 in Mason, Ohio.

The three teams will conduct a clinic for youth baseball teams starting at 4 p.m. Monday at Hafer Park in Edmond, then will gather at 5:30 for a meal on the OC campus, followed by a brief program, during which regional awards will be presented.
