OKLAHOMA CITY (April 24, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian women’s basketball signee Jordan Gorham has received a slew of postseason honors from two coaching groups and the state’s two largest newspapers, The Oklahoman and the Tulsa World.
Gorham, a 6-foot senior who led Perkins-Tryon High School to the Class 3A state championship game, was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association’s All-State Small East team and will play in the annual OCA All-State games on July 31 at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa.
The Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association also picked Gorham to its All-State Middle East squad. The OGBCA All-State games are scheduled for June 1 at Westmoore High School.
The newspapers also name separate All-State teams and Gorham made both those squads, too. The Tulsa World placed Gorham on its third-team list, while The Oklahoman named her to its Class 3A list.
Gorham also was on The Oklahoman’s Little All-City first-team list, which is comprised of players from smaller high schools in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
She averaged 16.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and nearly two blocked shots per game for Perkins-Tryon, which finished 28-1. Among Class 3A players, Gorham finished 10th in scoring, first in rebounding and second in field-goal percentage (65.1 percent).
