OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 11, 2013) – A day after posting her first collegiate win, Oklahoma Christian’s Audrey Meisch has been named as the Heartland Conference women’s golf player of the week.

Meisch, a sophomore from Andover, Kan., won medalist honors in the season-opening Hawks Creek Invitational by firing two even-par 72 rounds at 6,043-yard Hawks Creek Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Entering the week, Meisch had never posted a better single-round score than 74 in any event.

She posted a two-shot win and led OC to a second-place finish in the nine-team tournament, with the Lady Eagles falling in a three-way playoff against eventual winner Cameron and Incarnate Word (Texas).

Meisch became the third woman in OC golf history to win an individual title, joining Anna Arrese Cortadellas (who’s won five times) and Morgan Dockery.
