GREENVILLE, S.C. (Nov. 14, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian will start this season in the National Christian College Athletic Association men’s basketball rankings where the Eagles closed last season.
OC, which went 19-12 and finished as the NCCAA runner-up in 2013, was No. 2 in the NCCAA preseason rankings, released earlier this week. Indiana Wesleyan topped the poll.
After OC, Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) – an NAIA Division I semifinalist in 2013 – was No. 3, followed by Azusa Pacific (Calif.), defending NCCAA champion Shorter (Ga.), Cedarville (Ohio), Bethel (Ind.), Emmanuel (Ga.), Fresno Pacific (Calif.) and Northwestern –St. Paul (Minn.)
Of those teams, OC, Shorter, Cedarville and Fresno Pacific all reached the NCCAA semifinals last season.
The Eagles are off to a 2-0 start this season with double-digit wins over NAIA Division II No. 24 York (Neb.) and Southern Nazarene. OC will play at Langston on Friday.
