ARDMORE, Okla. (May 15, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian women’s basketball signee McKenzie Stanford is a standout in two sports.
Stanford, who attends Perkins-Tryon High School, won the high jump title in the recent Oklahoma Class 3A high school state track and field meet with a leap of 5 feet, 6 inches. By winning the event, Stanford automatically earned All-State honors in the high jump.
Stanford also helped Perkins-Tryon finish 28-1 in basketball this season and reach the Class 3A state championship game. She averaged 13.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game and earned All-State honors from the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association.
“She is obviously a versatile athlete,” OC basketball coach Stephanie Findley said. “Her jumping, agility and length will make her a nice addition to our presses and to our shot-blocking ability.”
