OC alum Heinen lands coaching job at Bridge Creek

BRIDGE CREEK, Okla. (July 11, 2013) – Former Oklahoma Christian soccer and basketball player Hope Heinen has been named as the head girls soccer coach at Bridge Creek High School.

Heinen, who wrapped up her playing career during the 2011-12 academic year, also will serve as an assistant girls basketball coach and assistant softball coach at the Class 4A high school, which is located in Grady County near Tuttle.

The soccer job will be the first head-coaching job for the 23-year-old Heinen. She will work under longtime Oklahoma prep coach Skip Ashworth in basketball.

Heinen, from Edmond, played soccer for OC from 2008 to 2011, scoring 15 goals and adding seven assists in 67 games. In basketball, she played in 40 games for OC during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons, averaging 1.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.
