OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 20, 2012) – Center Katy O’Steen has joined an exclusive women’s basketball club at Oklahoma Christian.

The 6-foot-1 senior from Durant is the 26th player in OC history to score at least 1,000 career points. She started the season with 925 points reached the 1,000-point mark in OC’s 73-68 loss at Southern Nazarene on Nov. 13.

She now has 1,128 career points, tying her with Nichole Sanders (who played from 1991 to 1995) for 22nd place on the Lady Eagles’ career list. O’Steen is 50 points behind the No.  21 player on the list, Kim Taylor (who played from 1987 to 1991).

O’Steen is the second OC player to join the 1,000-point club in as many seasons. Katy Clift, a guard from Kiowa who completed her four-year career with the 2011-12 season, finished with 1,025 career points and is 26th on the Lady Eagles’ career scoring list.
