AUSTIN, Texas (March 9, 2013) – Taylor Mosher scattered six hits in a complete-game shutout as Oklahoma Christian beat St. Edward’s (Texas) 5-0 on Saturday afternoon to earn a split of a softball doubleheader at Diane Daniels Field.

St. Edward’s took the opener 2-0 over the Lady Eagles.

OC (9-10) managed only two hits off St. Edward’s starter Sarah Debrow (8-6) in the first game – a leadoff single by Lauren Chatigny in the first inning and a double by Kendra Pierce in the seventh. Debrow recorded seven strikeouts.

OC starter Lindsy Moore (3-5) went the distance, allowing five hits.

In the second game, Mosher (4-2) constantly wriggled out of trouble, as the Hilltoppers stranded eight baserunners.

The Lady Eagles gave Mosher some support with two runs in the second. With one out, Kala Ratliff reached on an infield single and Martha Thomas doubled to right field off St. Edward’s starter Katelyn Klug (1-5). Both scored on a fielding error by St. Edward’s third baseman Ally Valdez.

Three more errors by the Hilltoppers led to three OC runs in the fourth. Michelle Miller had the game’s only RBI for the Lady Eagles with an infield single during the inning and Lauren Pittman added a double.

OC’s game Friday against St. Edward’s (12-13) was cancelled due to rain and won’t be rescheduled.
