OKLAHOMA CITY (March 8, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian swept the doubles matches and picked up a win at No. 6 singles for the first time this season en route to a 7-2 win over archrival Southern Nazarene on Friday at The Greens Country Club.
OC (6-1) started the match with decisive wins in all three doubles matches over SNU (0-4). The most dominant win came at the No. 3 position, as Angie Torres Quezada and Rebeca Aguilar Dominguez beat SNU’s Natalia Moreno and Payton Bergmann 8-2.
The Lady Eagles’ top two singles players, Barbora Bozkova and Gisela Castany, won easily over Masha Andrianova and Moreno, respectively, dropping only seven games combined over four sets.
Gabriela Carrilo took the No. 4 singles match by a 6-2, 7-6 count over the Crimson Storm’s Marina Shipilova.
At No. 6 singles, Aguilar Dominguez picked up her first win of the season, beating Bergmann 6-2, 6-4.
The match was moved up a day because of impending weather conditions in the Oklahoma City area.
The Lady Eagles will be off until next Saturday, when they begin their annual spring break tour of Florida with a match at Northwood (Fla.).
