HIGHLAND VILLAGE, Texas (July 23, 2013) – Evan Durrill, who helped his high school cross country team finish in the top five in Texas’ highest classification, has signed a letter of intent to run for Oklahoma Christian, OC coach Wade Miller said.
Durrill, from Highland Village, ran for Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas. He helped the Marauders finish fifth in Class 5A as a senior and individually finished 36th overall, with a time of 16:26.50.
He also ran in the Nike Cross Nationals South Regionals and finished 31st with a time of 16:10.
Durrill has personal-best times of 4:28 in the 1,600 meters and 9:50 in the 3,200 meters, both recorded during the 2013 track season.
"Evan adds to our depth and I can see him battling for a spot in our top seven,” Miller said. “I am really excited about him joining the team. He is a hard worker and has a great deal of potential.”
Durrill is the second runner to sign with OC as part of the 2013 recruiting class, joining Kyle Broaddrick of Broken Arrow, Okla.
