CHICKASHA, Okla. (March 31, 2013) – Kelsey Taylor, who led Chickasha High School to a 20-2 record as a junior, has signed a letter of intent to play women’s soccer at Oklahoma Christian, OC coach Randall Robison said Sunday.
Taylor, who recorded 34 goals and 35 assists during the first three years of her prep career, likely will play in an attacking position for the Lady Eagles, Robison said.
"Kelsey has great pace and gets forward very well,” Robison said. “She will factor into our rotation of outside midfielders. Kelsey will be a very good addition in the front half of the field for us."
Taylor is a three-time all-district selection for the Fighting Chicks, who long have been a top-shelf program in Oklahoma Class 5A. She plays club soccer for the Norman-based Oklahoma Football Club.
Taylor will be a second-generation OC student, following in the footsteps of her parents, Scott Taylor and Sharlyn Taylor.
She is one of three players who have signed with the Lady Eagles during the current NCAA signing period, joining defender Amanda Cooper of Keller, Texas, and midfielder Sophia Brazil, a standout for Deer Creek High School in Edmond.
