MATTHEWS, N.C. (Nov. 18, 2012) – Basketball Times has named Oklahoma Christian center Will Reinke to its NCAA Division II preseason All-America list.
The publication, considered one of the influential in the college basketball community, included its small-college All-America lists in its most recent issue. Reinke was included on the 24-player Division II list because OC is in the first year of the NCAA membership process and is playing a primarily Division II schedule as a Heartland Conference member.
Basketball Times noted OC’s move from the NAIA into the Division II membership process and said he “will be a player-of-the-year contender.”
The 6-foot-10 senior from Lawton earned NAIA second-team All-America honors last season, ranking in the top 15 nationally in rebounds per game (9.3), field-goal percentage (59.3) and blocked shots per game (2.1).
He led the Eagles in scoring at 16.5 points per game as OC won the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament title and gave eventual NAIA Division I champion Concordia (Calif.) its toughest game of the national tournament before falling in the first round.
Reinke received honorable mention on the NAIA All-America list as a sophomore.
