OKLAHOMA CITY (March 26, 2013) – For the fifth time this academic year, Oklahoma Christian’s Anna Arrese Cortadellas was named Tuesday as the National Christian College Athletic Association women’s golf student-athlete of the week.

The sophomore from Barcelona was honored for her play last week in the Midwestern State Invitational in Wichita Falls, Texas. Arrese Cortadellas took medalist honors at the tournament at Wichita Falls Country Club that featured four top-20 NCAA Division II teams.

On the par-72, 5,875-yard course, she shot rounds of 72 and 74, then won a two-hole playoff to take top honors. It was the fifth time in her 14 collegiate events she won – an astounding 35.7-percent clip – and she has never finished outside the top 10.

She led OC to a third-place team finish, as the unranked Lady Eagles beat two ranked foes.

Arrese Cortadellas received the NCCAA honor three times during the fall season and one previous time during the spring season. Her teammate, Morgan Dockery, also has received the NCCAA honor once this spring.
