Accounting students excel in state competition

In the third statewide competition of college accounting departments, the OC Accounting Club placed second, receiving a $1,000 grant, after winning the first two years of competition. East Central University received a $5,000 grant on behalf of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants, barely beating two-time champ Oklahoma Christian University.

In an ongoing effort to make educators and students aware of the valuable benefits and services the OSCPA offered, the Campus Competition was created. The contest runs throughout the school year, beginning in fall and ending in spring. Schools earn points by participating in various activities and utilizing resources offered by the OSCPA.

Other participating schools included University of Tulsa, Northeastern State University at Broken Arrow, Northeastern State University at Tahlequah and Oral Roberts University.
