OC hosts career fairs to help students land competitive jobs and internships
Throughout the semester, OC’s Calling and Career Center hosts job fairs for its students, partnering with some of the fastest-growing companies in the region. The fairs give students a good opportunity to see what positions are available to them in their desired field. Students can apply for internships in person and even meet employers.
“It's a great way for any student, regardless of year, to build their professional network,” Susan Hoover, OC’s director of calling and career, said. “Employers and graduate schools are taking time to come and meet and get to know our students and share what's available. It's something students should plan to attend to help get their foot in the door.”
Hoover encourages students to meet the excited employers from growing organizations such as Love's, Sonic, Tinker Air Force Base, OKC Dodgers, Paycom and the Tulsa Police Department, just to name a few.
The job fairs are scheduled for Sept. 26-28. Each one is tailored to different majors and interests. Students can preview jobs and internships and apply in person.
The College of Business Administration fair is Sept. 26 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Harvey Business Center. The College of Engineering and Computer Science job fair is Sept. 27 from noon - 2 p.m. in the McIntosh Conservatory. On Sept. 28, the job fair for the College of Liberal Arts, College of Natural and Health Sciences and College of Bible will be in the student center from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Students wanting tips for interviewing or to just ask questions are encouraged to visit Hoover in person or by visiting www.oc.edu/career.
