General Scholarship Fund

Current scholarships come from dollars contributed to the general scholarship fund. The general scholarship fund works like a cash account, giving Financial Services ready access to scholarship dollars which can be immediately applied to a student's bill. Current scholarships provide Oklahoma Christian with the means to bring students to OC that might not have the means otherwise.

The General Scholarship Fund relies solely on the generous donations of alumni, parents, and friends of Oklahoma Christian University. As tuition and other education costs rise, it becomes increasingly important to keep this fund healthy and growing. Your donation, regardless of its size, is significant and essential to hundreds of students on campus today.

Furthermore, the strength of the University Scholarship Fund serves as a barometer to many foundations and corporations as they consider donation recipients. Consistent and substantial support from those closest to the University indicates the worth of the institution and increases the probability of sizeable gifts from foundations. Please prayerfully consider a commitment to give regularly to OC's General Scholarship Fund - a single gift can change a student's life.

Although we gratefully accept any size gift to our general scholarship fund, our primary vehicle for raising general scholarship funds is Oklahoma Christian Associates. All OC Associates are invited to the annual Associates banquet. This gala event is a special night of entertainment and high-class fun for all of the OC Associates from around the country. For the last two years, the dinner has been held at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.

Scholarship Endowment

A scholarship endowment is a meaningful way to memorialize or honor a loved one while empowering future Christian leaders and scholars. This type of gift is designated an endowment to ensure the permanent funding of the scholarship without depleting the principal. Endowed scholarships are basically investment accounts. Your gift is invested in a broadly diversified portfolio. Each year, 5% of the fair market value of the account is spent on student scholarships. Investment gain above this amount is reinvested so that even more scholarships can be awarded to future generations of students.

If you have questions about other ways to make a gift to endowed or current scholarships (e.g., gifting shares of stock or mutual funds, designating scholarships in an estate plan or insurance policy, etc.), please contact the Office for Advancement at (405) 425-5094, or via email:
