Kay Elder is a Certified Nurse Educator. She is interested in test anxiety reduction, end of life care, and family support for Alzheimer’s disease. Elder is in the American Nurses Association, Oklahoma Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, National League of Nursing, American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She is also the sponsor of the OC Student Nurses Association. She says, “I am excited to work with students in a setting where you are encouraged to share your faith with your students. It feels like ‘coming home’ to return as faculty to OC.” One of her favorite memories of OC was Dr. Dunn milking a goat in chapel under the direction of Dr. Wilson when OU lost to OSU. Elder is married to Richard, and they have one daughter named Elisha. She attends Memorial Road Church of Christ.

Beth has been a nurse since 1997 and has worked in Oncology, Cardio-thoracic surgery, ICU, and Urgent Care. She is a Certified Nurse Educator. She has been teaching since 1999 and loves to mentor and encourage nursing students. She is member of Sigma Theta Tau, Oklahoma Nurses Association, National League of Nursing and American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She is the faculty sponsor of OC's Oklahoma Nursing Students Association. Beth is married to Steve and has two beautiful girls, Allie & Maggie.

Shawna HoodShawna Hood, RN, MS

Shawna Hood is interested in researching treatment options besides medication stimulants for the treatment of ADHD. She was one of the sponsors for the 2007 trip by a group of nursing students to Honduras, where they provided services to several groups. Hood is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. She attends Britton Road Church of Christ where she is a Bible class teacher and helps with the youth group. She has two children, Taylor and Corrine.

Becky has been a nurse since 2001 with a background in medical-surgical nursing, travel nursing in California and Oklahoma and most recently, cardiovascular OR at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, National League for Nursing, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Her research interests include simulation as an educational tool and barriers for English as Additional Language (EAL) students in nursing education. She is married to Michael and has three children. She attends Memorial Road Church of Christ, where she is active in the children's ministry.

Marissa Diller, RN, MS

Marissa Diller has been a nurse since 2000 and has worked in Antepartum, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, and the Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU). In 2009, she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and has a passion for supporting and educating others about breastfeeding. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, as well as International Lactation Consultant Association and the United States Lactation Association. Marissa is married to her college sweetheart, Rod, whom she met at OC as a pre-nursing major. Rod and Marissa have three beautiful girls and attend the Church of Christ at Oakdale.

Christy was a graduate of OC's first nursing class in 2008. She has worked at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City on the Pediatric Surgical unit. She credits the nursing faculty for growing her into the nurse and servant leader she has become. She lives in Oklahoma City with her husband David, also an alum, and their son. They attend Oakcrest Church of Christ.

Donna has been with the OC nursing program for six years. She is thankful for the opportunity to work in a great Christian environment and adores the students. She is married to John and has one beautiful daughter, Monica. She and her family are faithful members of the Churches of Christ.
