Each November sees a full-scale production of a staged musical with orchestra, ranging from Broadway's classics to London's hottest modern hits. Recent productions have included "Titanic," "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Into the Woods," "Little Shop of Horrors," "West Side Story," "Guys & Dolls," "She Loves Me," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," "Beauty and the Beast," "Seussical the Musical," and, for Fall 2013, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
Oklahoma Christian's unique version of dinner theater is the annual "Valentine Cabaret" production. With dinner served in the spacious McIntosh Conservatory and the show presented on the nearby stage of the acoustically and visually stunning Adams Recital Hall, the experience is a memorable one. Many OC students have taken their turn in the spotlight in recent productions such as "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," "Two by Two" and "The Fantasticks." Multiple performances provide students interested in music theater a "starring role" in this popular event.
The Opera Studio provides the advanced singers at Oklahoma Christian University with a rare opportunity each Spring- the chance to perform some of the great works in the operatic repertory as undergraduates. Performed on stage with imaginative costumes and inventive settings (Carmen 2K2 was set on the fictitious Mexican border town of Seville, Texas in the year 2002), past opera productions have enjoyed great popularity with large student audiences.
Other recent productions have included "The Marriage of Figaro," "The Elixir of Love," "Don Giovanni," "The Merry Widow," "Die Fledermaus," and "Hansel and Gretel." Graduates of the Opera Studio have graduated from the OC stage to compete successfully in major musical graduate schools and professional companies.
