Pi Sigma Alpha

Good Times for Smart Students!!

The Delta Rho chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, National Political Science Honors Society, was founded in October 2006.  Since that time, members have made great strides in undergraduate work and graduate studies.  Members have been accepted to PhD programs at Harvard, University of Texas, Texas Tech University, University of California San Diego, Oklahoma University, and The University of Kent in Brussels Belgium.  Members have also been accepted to law schools such as OU, OCU, University of Virginia, University of New Hampshire, Baylor, Texas Tech, SMU, and University of Tulsa.

The chapter has been particularly active in the Model Arab League, an intercollegiate competition of research and debate.  In April, 2011, OC’s team came in second place behind only the National winners.  Since then, the OC team has been second to none, having won the South West Regional competition for past three years running.  In 2014, every member won an award; 8 of 10 won Outstanding Delegate and the remaining 2 won Outstanding Honorable Mention.

Pi Sigma Alpha also sponsors a campus wide debate during the Fall and Spring semester.  This is open to all students for participation.  The fall topics are usually global in nature, while the spring topics are specific to Oklahoma Christians.

Currently, two of our members, Afton Paris and Tyler Parette, are studying abroad at Oxford University in England.
