Dr. Johnson received the Teacher of the Year Award from Greater Atlanta Christian School in 2004. He also received the STAR Teacher Award from the same school in 2005. Dr. Johnson is in the Mathematical Association of America and enjoys running, outdoor activities, and golf. He and his wife Kara have four children, Hannah, Sarah, Abigail, and Caleb. Dr. Johnson attends Westwood Church of Christ where he is a Bible class teacher and a small group leader. He went on a mission trip to Rwanda in 2007.
