School of Business Administration Sponsored Clubs
In the fall of 2006, the School of Business Administration formed an OC Accounting Club. The club was organized to meet several times each semester to schedule guest speakers, to provide resources to the accounting faculty and to involve the accounting majors in greater leadership roles on campus. The first organizational meeting was held in November of 2006 and the Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA) spoke of their internship program and their student member program. For additional information, please contact Elaine Kelly or the Oklahoma Society of CPAs at www.oscpa.com.
American Marketing Association
The OC chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) was officially chartered in 2008 and has become a very successful organization in a short time. In the first years as a competitive chapter, the OC AMA has received national recognition at the AMA Collegiate Conference in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014, being selected from 140+ schools for demonstrating excellence in membership, community service, chapter planning and reporting. The conference is hosted by AMA International, the parent organization for collegiate chapters. Membership in the AMA brings many benefits to students such as the chance to network with marketing professionals who speak on campus at chapter meetings, the opportunity to develop leadership skills through officer positions or committee leadership, and membership in the Oklahoma City AMA chapter as well. For more information, please visit the website at www.amaoc.com, or contact faculty advisor Dr. Kerianne Roper.
