Mark Vaughn
From San Diego, California, Mark attended Oklahoma Christian and serves students from African-American churches of Christ, transfer and spring and summer students.
Favorite OC professor—Dr. Jim Wilson
Dr. Wilson was my history professor and advisor. He taught me how to be a student, a good student. I remember a time when I didn't do well on one of his tests. I wanted to drop his class but he wouldn't allow me to do so. He got up out of his chair and said, “I will not sign your drop/ add slip, but I will show you how to study.”
Favorite OC memory—
Dorm life at OC was like no other. I met guys that I call friend to this day. Some of the best times we had in Fails and Warlick Halls were playing football in the rain. We’d track mud back into the dorms (that didn’t make the resident director happy). I remember some of the best practical jokes ever played on a human being happening in the residence halls…but I shouldn’t go into them here.
