The Oklahoma Christian University Honors Summer Academy is an annual, seven-day college experience hosted by OC's Honors Program to encourage the pursuit of excellence by gifted and talented students finishing their freshman through junior years of high school. It is held on the OC campus.
The program is accepting applications from high school students who already have demonstrated excellence in academics seeking to develop those skills for exceptional university performance. By the end of the program, students will have developed the confidence to continue their academic trajectory of excellence, link academics to their faith, and demonstrate the impact of experiential learning in academic and in service activity.
We believe confidence in these core skills will contribute to increased resilience and persistence necessary to achieve exceptional performance following high school graduation.
Each participant may earn two hours of transferable university credit each summer by selecting two of the following courses from the appropriate grade level. Students can earn up to six university credits by attending three summers. Credits are based on face-to-face instruction time as well as Blackboard/internet activity before and after the time in residence at OC. Course faculty are OC Master Teachers.
